OpenAI has announced a major update for ChatGPT, allowing users to generate images directly within the chat interface.
This feature will soon be available to all users, including free users, as well as those on Plus, Pro, and Team plans.
Previously, users had to visit a separate tool like DALL-E to generate images, but now, image creation will be seamlessly integrated into ChatGPT.
This update is powered by OpenAI’s latest AI model, GPT-4o, which is designed to handle both text and images in a highly advanced way.
With this new feature, you can generate images based on your text prompts, uploaded files, or ongoing conversation. This means you can create entirely new images or modify existing ones.
For example, if you upload a picture of your pet, you can ask ChatGPT to turn it into a cartoon version, add a fantasy background, or even animate it.
OpenAI says that you can use this tool for both personal and professional purposes. You can use it to create graphics, memes, and posts with text for social media.
It can also be used for education and research purposes to generate visual guides and infographics.
You can also use it for business and marketing by designing advertisements, invitation cards, or branding materials.
One of the standout features is its ability to generate photorealistic images with precise lighting, shadows, and textures.
It also understands the context of previous conversations, so if you discuss a historical event and later ask for an illustration, it will generate an accurate depiction.
The AI can generate multiple images in a sequence, making it useful for step-by-step instructions or storytelling.
It can also maintain character consistency. Additionally, the model can handle complex prompts with up to 20 different objects while maintaining accuracy.
OpenAI has implemented strong safety measures to prevent misuse. The AI cannot generate explicit content, deep fakes, or violent imagery.
All generated images will include metadata (C2PA) that helps people verify if they were AI-generated.
