Shadow Labyrinth, the edgy Pac-Man Metroidvania, arrives on July 18

Shadow Labyrinth, an utterly bonkers riff on Pac-Man and sidescrolling Metroidvania games, will hit digital store shelves on July 18. It’ll be available for Nintendo Switch, PC via Steam, PS5 and Xbox Series X/S. The game casts players as Swordsman No. 8 as he befriends a yellow orb called Puck. For the gaming historians out there, Puck-Man was the original name for Pac-Man. The gameplay involves switching from the classic sword-wielding hero to Puck, with the latter able to crawl on walls and (surprise) gobble up yellow dots. There’s also a third form, a mecha construct called Gaia. The gameplay

I Spent Some Time With Samsung’s AI Appliances. Is the Cost Worth The Hype?

Every company is working hard to put AI in all your home appliances. Samsung is no exception. It showcased a range of AI-powered appliances during CES 2024 and CES 2025. Highlighting smart fridges, dishwashers, ovens, washing machines and dryers, Samsung’s smart home appliances integrate AI features, LCD touchscreens, cameras, auto-open doors and other features to improve your day-to-day cooking, clothes washing and cleaning.  None of these AI features are particularly new. All of them have existed on previous iterations of Samsung’s lineup but it’s become increasingly clear that home appliances are going to get AI in them, regardless of need.

Russia completes development of 30-year-old outdated lithography tool

Zelenograd Nanotechnology Center (ZNTC) and Planar have concluded developing Russia’s first lithography system capable of supporting 350nm-class process technologies (0.35 micron). The development was assisted by Belarus-based Planar company. The machine has cleared official inspections and is undergoing integration trials in Zelenograd. Despite its symbolic significance, the system’s design has been outdated by several decades, and whether ZNTC can produce these in volume is unclear. The ZNTC lithography tool — which was officially introduced a year ago — is a 200-mm litho machine based on a solid-state laser with an exposure field size of 22mm × 22mm (484 mm^2). ZNTC
