Are we past the uncanny valley yet or will that ever happen?

I have been discussing about AI-generated images with some web designers, and many of them are skeptical about its value. The most common issue that was raised was the uncanny valley. Best app to create a photorealistic image from a 16th century technical drawing.

I would like to create a photorealistic image of the inner mechanism of a 16th century artificial leg, based on a 16th century drawing (see below). I've been using Leonardo.Ai trying to generate just the foot portion of it giving the basic dimensions of the metal (most recent prompt below) but I've had numerous unsatisfactory results with different prompts.
